Armani Prive Oud Royal

Armani Prive Oud Royal, created by perfumer Evelyne Boulanger is part of the La Collection des Mille et Une Nuits, which includes the Rose d’Arabie or Ambre d’Orient essences.

Armani Prive Oud Royal is the aroma projection of the precious oriental oud. According to oriental myths, this wood is more tantalizing than gold. Mysterious and priceless, oud oil finds its origins in the resin produced by the trees in the Aquilaria, Gonystylus and Aetoxylon genus.

The perfume of Armani Prive collection opens with an enchanting and a slightly alcoholic note, reminding us of the note provided by rum and dried raisins. Due to the subtle and silky saffron notes, the perfume gets a gourmand quality in its opening. The fruit sauce impression is unusual since it is created out of a selection of dried fruits. The ephemeral incipit with gourmand abilities subdues the strong tunes of oud, myrrh, labdanum, and leather, precious materials that are opaque by their nature and that usually overwhelm with their dense aroma.

30 minutes are necessary for Armani Prive Oud Royal to transform in a diffusive oriental mixture, refined and pleasant, both of female and male skin. After this period, the rose and saffron become episodic tunes, barely perceptible, the oud taking over the projection and supporting the wake of this niche perfume. Until the end of its metamorphosis, only the patchouli notes and fine caresses of sandalwood intervene in the linearity of the Armani Prive Oud Royal essence, which sticks to the skin for approximately 8 to 10 hours.

The last shimmers left by the Armani Prive Oud Royal perfume on the skin are offered by the base infused with tunes of scintillating yellow amber, sandalwood, and patchouli. Just like Amber Orient, the perfume starts using the oriental agarwood theme, reinterpreted to fit the contemporary occidental preferences.

Sensual and upbeat, suitable for women and men alike, the elixir proposes a contemporary oud note, supported by a spicy and warm saffron tone. As it dries, the acute impression of the agarwood dissipates in a soft, warm, and sweet base. Generally, oud perfumes are dark and intense, but Armani manages to offer a unique interpretation, fresh and sweet of this olfactory myth.
