My name is Thea and it’s pronounced like Taya. It’s short for Theadora.
I was named after my Dutch Grandma (Oma).
I live on the western side of Canada near the Rocky Mountains so through this blog you will get a flavour of my Canadian life!
I have been married for 30+ years to my wonderful husband.
This is our wedding photograph.
This is us now. He’s still my best friend.
We have two daughters in their twenties now pursuing their own education and career pursuits.
This is now that they are young adults.
Sometimes my time as a mother comes through this blog.
I had a long career as an elementary school teacher, which I totally enjoyed.
I have a Bachelor of Education degree and a Masters of Education degree.
I’ve had a bit of variety in my career having taught teachers in training at the university level, authored five books for educators and worked as a professional speaker.
So my ‘teacher hat’ will occasionally show through in this blog too!
I started blogging in January 2011.
Since I was working full time I didn’t have a lot of time to dedicate to it so I posted about once a week.
Since then this blog went through a name change and recently a whole design change.
It’s been fun to see it evolve and grow.
You can now expect to see knew blog posts two to three times a week.
This is where I do most of my work on Apple computer desktop.
My blog posts always have images and I have a Nikon 5100 Digital SLR camera.
It’s pretty awesome to work with.
What do I blog about?
Let’s just say I have a lot of interests and hobbies.
It makes it even more fun that I am able to share them with you here.
