Time With Thea Most Popular 2016 Posts ~ Enjoy this showcase and review of what the readers enjoyed the most on Time With Thea!
We are really close to coming to the end of 2016. This is a time when many bloggers take a look at the past year and share their most popular posts.
I love to blog for many reasons. I love coming up with the ideas. I love to create and make the ideas. I really enjoy the photography and the writing. I love working on the blog taking care of the tasks that need to be done behind the scenes. It is very rewarding knowing that there are going to be people like you that will actually read what I share and I thank you for that opportunity!
I don’t tend to create and share things that are the latest trend. What I do share are things that I enjoy doing and know a lot about. I tend to write a lot of blogs that provide solutions to everyday problems and interestingly, it is these ones for the most part that are the most popular. When I create DIY projects I also try to give very detailed tutorials that make it easy for you to follow along. I also try to share ideas that are not too expensive so they are doable to replicate.
There is one more blogging task that I really enjoy and that is clicking publish and having the blog post go live and join the internet world. Then I send it to my email subscribers and share it on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram. I never know how well it will be received and how popular it will become. It is this unknown I find quite fascinating!
Some of the Time With Thea most popular posts became very popular in a short period of time. Whereas, some of the blog pots were written a few years ago and received minimal attention. Now they are very well received and are the most popular. Who knows? I guess it is OK not to be a trendy blogger. Ideas that are classic, doable and help make life a little more inspired, beautified and organized are here for the long term just like a good book or movie.
Let’s take a look what you, my readers and followers enjoyed the most. Just click the teal blue link or the image to go to the original post…
Time With Thea Most Popular 2016 Posts
I used to work as an elementary school teacher and each Christmas and school year end I was fortunate to receive quite a few gifts from my students. I spent a lot of time writing thank you notes for each gift. After writing hundreds of thank you notes over many years I developed a technique that really helped with the process.
My oldest daughter moved to Australia to attend medical school. That meant a lot of long flights back and forth to Canada during the four years she was away. It was from her I learned these great tips for organizing a travel handbag. She completed her medical degree and is now working as a resident doctor back here in Canada. It is nice to have her back home.
I have decorated outdoors with fresh pumpkins for many years. I like to buy them as soon as they are available and leave them out to October 31st. The problem was they started to deteriorate before that time and look quite unsightly. We can also get freezing temperatures at night where I live. So having fresh pumpkins that lost their freshness did not work. I came up with a solution for preparing pumpkins so they still look fresh and fabulous no matter what the temperature.
I was curious about working with deco mesh. It comes in so many pretty colours and has lots of decorating possibilities. I also love making bows and wanted to see what type of bows I could create using deco mesh. I made large six large red bows accented with wired edge ribbon and bead garland for the Christmas decorated banister a couple of years ago. They are easy to store in a big bag and look just as great when I bring them out to use every year.
I lot of ideas I share on the blog are solutions to problems. This is definitely one of those ideas. I could not find a convenient way to store printer paper that was inexpensive and did not take up a lot of room so I came up with my own storage solution. This is also an example of where I like to come with clever ideas for how to use materials in different ways.
I have no idea where this idea came from. I think it started as one of those ideas where I was wide awake at 3 am in the morning because I could not sleep. When that happens I think about ideas to make that I can share on the blog. I knew I wanted to make something with clear glass Christmas ornaments. What was created from that sleepless night become very popular very quickly!
I love to organize and come up with storage ideas that make life a little bit easier. This was also a blog post that solved a problem from having a messy dysfunctional upright freezer to having one that I can easily find what I am looking for when I need it. It also looks quite pretty when I open it up each time!
Gardening is another one of my passions that I share on the blog. I enjoy growing flowers and I also enjoy adding décor to the garden beds. The inspiration to make these garden gazing balls came from the blog Empress of Dirt. Melissa the creator is exceptionally talented when it comes to gardening and creating garden art. As always, when I am inspired by someone else’s idea I like to put my own spin on it and that is what I share in this blog post that became very popular as soon as I hit publish.
Here is another problem-solving blog post. Apparently a lot of my readers have the same problem because it consistently has been very popular every year. For years I followed the same steps every spring and it really works. I have to thank my dear friend Debbie who is a horticultural instructor and shared her how-tos with me. I also wrote this post at a very difficult time in my life so I am honoured that it has helped so many people.
This is it! This is the most popular post for 2016! It is significantly the most popular! Like the problem for how to make fresh pumpkins last, this too was a problem I solved for how to make outdoor fall mums last for a few months. I came up with this watering trick by using logic and a little plant watering know-how and it really works!
Final Comments: It appears the Time With Thea Most Popular 2016 Posts are the ones that either inspire or give solutions to a problem. I am so pleased I was able to help!
It also looks like my organizing, gardening as well as crafts and DIY projects are enjoyed by you the most! I am thrilled because I love coming up with helpful organizing ideas, I am a passionate gardener and I love creating and making!
