Glass Bowl Poinsettia Plant Christmas Gift ~ Quickly and easily turn a basic poinsettia plant into gorgeous Christmas decor to keep or give as a gift!
It is the last week before Christmas Day. I am sure it is a busy time for all of us! Where I live the weather has not been that agreeable. It has been cold!!!! It has been very cold!!!! It takes a little longer to get ready to go outdoors because we have to put more clothing on and it takes a little longer to get going because the car needs more time to warm up.
We have been invited to a few Christmas parties this week. I am so looking forward to attending them because it is a time to catch up with friends and acquaintances as well as possibly meet some new people.
When attending a Christmas party, it is nice to arrive with a hostess Christmas gift. The question becomes then what to give? We always arrive with a special bottle of wine. But it is also nice to give a gift that can be enjoyed during the holiday season.
A bouquet of flowers is lovely but I am always hesitant to give a bouquet to the hostess that needs to be unwrapped, stems trimmed and arranged in a vase. The hostess is already busy enough.
I love poinsettias. They are very Christmassy! They come in all kinds of colours and sizes. I am partial to the smaller plant sizes. They can add Christmas décor to any place whether it is on a kitchen island, sofa table, kitchen table, coffee table and even in a guest bathroom.
I also love poinsettias because during the Christmas season they are readily available for purchase in all kinds of stores. They are easy to pop into a grocery cart in the grocery store, Walmart brings in new batches every week and the garden shops have a lovely variety to choose from.
But I do have a problem with poinsettia plants. They come in a plastic plant pot and a plastic sleeve. Here we have a beautiful plant and it is showcased in a wrinkled shaped piece of coloured usually red plastic sleeve. The plastic sleeve looks so….plastic. I just feel a poinsettia plant looks so pretty at Christmas time but it needs a little more to make it a Christmas gift.
I came up with another way to showcase the beautiful poinsettia plant that hides the plastic sleeve. The poinsettia plant looks a lot prettier. The best thing is that it is not expensive and it is very easy to put together. Do you have five minutes?
Here is how to make a…
Glass Bowl Poinsettia Plant Christmas Gift
Purchase a 4-1/2 inch poinsettia plant.
Purchase a small glass bowl vase at the dollar store.
Purchase red deco mesh and cut a piece about a foot wide. I bought mine a Michaels. It is left over from
Wrap the poinsettia plant pot with the red deco mesh folded into quarters with the ends folded inside.
Place the deco mesh wrapped poinsettia plant pot into the small glass bowl.
Final Comments: Make several to have around the house for the Christmas season and to give as hostess gifts! Buying small poinsettia plants and shopping at the dollar store will keep the cost down!
I have a couple on the kitchen table placed with a
