BEAUTIFUL FALL DECORATED HOUSE NUMBER PLANT POTS ~ Decorate house number plant pots embellished with green glass gems and ceramic orange pumpkins! It is a super easy and quick DIY project for your front porch!
Between work, family, taking care of the house and everything else that needs to be done in life it is nice to have a creative project that is both inexpensive and quick to do. It is even nicer when it turns out beautifully! This is the case with these BEAUTIFUL FALL DECORATED HOUSE NUMBER PLANT POTS!
Earlier in the spring I turned black IKEA JUJUBÄR pots into some gorgeous house number plant pots that I placed on the front stairs leading to the front door. I planted them with pretty purple pansies. This DIY project was super simple to do too! You can find the instructions in Make Your Own Beautiful House Number Plant Pots . This DIY project was also so well received it was featured on the front cover of the app magazine DIY Decorating Addict !
Later in the summer I planted the same house number plant pots with sapphire blue lobelia. This is one of my favourite annual flowers and one of my favourite colours. The sapphire blue lobelia flourished and bloomed beautifully all summer. You can see how they turned out in Time With Thea Late Summer Garden Tour .
It is now the fall season and I wanted to decorate the same house number plant pots with a fall theme. It is not practical for me to plant another flower in the pots at this time of the year where I live. I was thinking some fall mums would look pretty but I know they would not last very long. We have already had a couple of frosty nights and there is a bit of snow predicted for the upcoming weekend. So I chose to decorate them instead with non-living décor items!
Here is how to make…
BEAUTIFUL FALL DECORATED HOUSE NUMBER PLANT POTS
- house number plant pots
- landscape fabric
- green glass gems
- orange ceramic pumpkins
Fill house number plant pot with soil to almost the top.
Cover the soil with landscape fabric cut to size with scissors. This step makes it easier to take off the green glass gems at the end of the fall season.
Cover the landscape fabric with green glass gems.
Place an orange ceramic pumpkin on top of the green glass gems.
Final Comments: Five minutes later you have BEAUTIFUL FALL DECORATED HOUSE NUMBER PLANT POTS! I have to admit I love how the orange and green contrast beautifully with the black plant pots.
These three colours along with the gold house numbers add a vibrant pop of colour to the front porch!
Your Turn: I don’t know if you know this but as a blogger who creates DIY projects not every project I create works out the first time. Sometimes I have an idea in my mind but when I go to make it, it does not turn out at all and I have to scrap it. Or it turns out but it’s not exactly the way I wanted it to look. This is the case with these BEAUTIFUL FALL DECORATED HOUSE NUMBER PLANT POTS. My first attempt was to place faux fall leaves that I bought at the dollar store on top of the soil and then place the ceramic pumpkin on top of the leaves. The photograph actually looks better than I how I felt it looked in real life. What are your thoughts? Which version do you prefer?
This is how the entire front porch decorated. The BEAUTIFUL FALL DECORATED HOUSE NUMBER PLANT POTS fit perfectly with the rest of the fall decor.
