How To Store Large Size Paper ~ Here is a home storage idea for storing large sheets of paper conveniently, safely, inexpensively and is easy to create!
Do you have some large size paper that is a large and awkward size and have no idea where to store it? I am referring to large size paper that is about 22” by 28” as in poster paper or poster board. Watercolour paper can also be purchased in large sizes like this and I don’t know if you know this but it can be quite expensive. So you want to protect your investment.
I was in Michaels a couple of weeks ago at about 4:00 pm on a school day and I noticed there were several mothers shopping with their school age children. I could tell that they were looking for items for their year-end school projects. They all carried several sheets of different colours of poster board as well as other items like stickers, letters and embellishments. Having been a teacher I always planned for my students do a couple of projects in June to create and present to their classmates. It was a great way for my students to celebrate of all of their learning during the school year.
The problem then becomes what to do with the leftover items that were not used in creating the project. It isn’t a good idea to just throw it out because that would be a waste and they can be used for other crafts and projects. When my children were young I used to keep all kinds of leftover and dollar store craft supplies for them to use whenever for whatever crafty thing they wanted to create. The craft collection was pretty popular during the summer on a rainy day. I share how crafting and creating was popular when my daughters were young when I was interviewed by Home Tips For Women. Storing craft supplies like stickers and embellishments is pretty easy because they do not take up a lot of room. But storing leftover or extra pieces of large size paper and poster board is not as convenient. Rolling the sheets up and securing them with elastic is an option but there are two problems with this method. The large paper inevitably becomes wrinkled or creased and it is no longer flat when you unroll it.
I have come up with large storage idea that is…
- convenient to store
- convenient to access
- does not take up a lot of space
- prevents damage
- easy to put together
- relatively inexpensive
Here Is How To Store Large Size Paper
- 48” x 35” foam board tri-fold
- 2 large binder clips
- cardstock and pen for making the label (optional)
- craft glue
Prepare and glue your label onto the back of the tri-fold.
Open up the tri-fold and place the large sheets of paper in the middle section.
Bring the right and left side sections to the middle. Secure with a binder clip at the top and another one at the bottom.
As you can see it is very easy to put together and easy to work with. Your sheets of large paper are secure inside the foam board tri-fold. They will stay flat and not get damaged. The best thing about this large paper storage idea compared to other options is that it quite inexpensive to create.
