Strawberry Tea Themed Gift Basket ~ Ideas and printable for creating a gift basket filled with homemade and purchased items perfect for a strawberry tea!
I recently had a lot of fun putting together Strawberry Tea Themed Gift Baskets for my husband. It was Personal Administrative’s Week and he wanted to give something to say thank you in a unique and special way to his personal assistants. This strawberry tea themed gift basket also is a great gift for a birthday, thank you, Mother’s Day and for an end of the year Teacher Appreciation gift!
Before I give you the ideas for what I put in the gift basket I wanted to let you know that I love working with themes. I think it came from when I worked as an elementary school teacher. One of my favourite parts of the job was planning the learning. I particularly loved to plan units based on themes for my students. I loved coming up with ideas that tied together in a particular topic.
When you think about it there are a lot of things that are organized around themes. Party planning is easier when it has a theme. There are amusement parks based on themes. Restaurants are styled and organized on a theme including the décor, uniforms, menu and background music. These are just a few examples.
I made three strawberry tea themed gift baskets. They were filled with a combination of homemade items and store bought items. A few of the items were bought at the dollar store and that helped keep the cost down.
Here are some ideas for how to put together a…
Strawberry Tea Themed Gift Basket
Strawberry Jam Muffins
Each gift basket also got six home baked Strawberry Jam Muffins. They are easy to bake and super tasty. I thought muffins were a good choice rather than cupcakes with frosting because they were easier and less messy to package.
Strawberry Flavoured Candies
I purchased this jar inexpensive jar and filled it with strawberry candies. It is amazing what you can find at the dollar store.
Strawberry Cream Tea
We have a fabulous tea shop in the town I live in that has a wall filled with jars of different kinds of tea. They even had different kinds of strawberry tea for me to choose from. I love how the loose tea was packaged in bright green packaging. The bright green adds a nice pop of colour to the gift basket.
A strawberry tea needs pretty napkins to help contain the crumbs from the strawberry muffins and for wiping your mouth after sipping hot tea. The pretty green napkins package were just a dollar at the dollar store.
I could have added other items that fit the strawberry tea themed gift basket but I was limited by budget. Some other ideas to include are china teacups, a tea strainer and some pretty teaspoons.
Putting Your Strawberry Tea Themed Gift Basket Together
I found a medium-sized galvanized pail at the dollar store that I thought would make a perfect container. I know it isn’t technically a basket but I thought it could also be used for something different afterwards. I actually was inspired by a Spa-Style Soap Tin gift my friend Andrea from Personally Andrea put together to give for Teacher Appreciation gifts. I have to admit I really like the look of the galvanized pail.
Another idea is to buy an inexpensive clear plastic medium-sized bowl at the dollar store. The bowl can also be used for lots of different things afterwards.
Print off the label Strawberry Tea Themed Gift Basket Just For You. Here is a PDF printable for your convenience.
Trim the label and tape it to the outside of the pail with double-sided tape.
Wrap a pretty ribbon, bakers twine or paper rope around the rim of the pail and tie it into a bow.
Place a large clear plastic bag inside the pail. I know large plastic bags are hard to find but I have a very inexpensive idea. The plastic bag I used was a dry cleaning bag! I tied the open end into a knot and put that end in the bottom of the pail.
Now place your items inside the large plastic bag and top it off with a note card. I made a Thank You Berry Much card to fit the strawberry theme. The tutorial for that is coming up in my next blog post.
Trim the extra plastic off the top of the plastic dry cleaning bag and secure with a pretty ribbon, bakers twine or paper rope.
That is it! Your Strawberry Tea Themed Gift Basket looks pretty awesome in a gift pail. It is a fun gift to create and a fun gift to give!
As I mentioned earlier I love working with themes. Here are some other posts where I share how I use themes other ways…
I make deciding what to eat for dinner by planning the menu around themes…
… and my Christmas tree is decorated using a couple of different themes…
… I even looked for themes when I visited the stunning Butchart Gardens in Victoria, Canada!
What themes do you work with? Do you have any other ideas to add to a Strawberry Tea Themed Gift Basket?
