Unique And Gorgeous Garden Features ~ Garden features add an element of design and added interest to an outdoor garden! Here are twenty unique and gorgeous ideas!
I love to garden. I see it as creating a living painting outdoors. My outdoor garden painting changes from week to week and season to season depending on what plants are growing and what flowers are blooming. I love working with the soil and the plants. I also love searching for and adding interesting inexpensive features to my garden too!
Are you familiar with Hometalk? It is great social networking site where you can get loads of ideas and information about anything to do with home and garden. I recently curated a board that I titled Unique And Gorgeous Garden Features with ideas I found on Hometalk that I thought were fabulous.
There are so many interesting things you can add to a garden to create unique and gorgeous garden features. The ideas I collected for this board include lighting possibilities, accessory inspirations, and container garden options. I didn’t go for the garden features that required hiring a landscape company. Instead I looked for ideas that other gardeners did themselves and shared on Hometalk.
Let’s take a look at a few that I found and the reasons why I love them
Unique And Gorgeous Garden Features
They Don’t Have To Be Expensive
Lorrie B is a Hometalker and the blogger behind Finding Secret Treasure. She loves to create and upcycle new things from old things. She created this birdfeeder from an old outdoor light fixture. What a clever idea!
Adding Bright Coloured Features Adds An Element Of Fun
Here is another clever idea! Spray paint a collection of accessories the same bright colour. Angela the blogger behind Twelve Oaks Manor gave new life to these rain boots, chair and plant pot. They now add a pop of colour to the garden. I think they are so cute and so fun!
Design Artwork Using Recycled Materials
Kimberly Noelle is clearly very artistic based on this stunning art feature she created and when you visit her blog Quirky Cool Living. She brightened up a dull area of her garden with this design using recycled landscape materials. I think this peacock mosaic flat artwork is gorgeous.
Create Sculptures From Containers
Container gardens and outdoor planters are very popular in gardening. Roeshel the popular blogger from DIY Showoff takes the container garden to whole new level with her stacked ombre flower pot feature in her garden.
Look For Creative Ways To Add Lighting
This upcycled outdoor chandelier made from an indoor hanging lamp is very clever and even better makes a very inexpensive light feature to add to a garden. Heather from New House New Home created this and has it hanging from one of the many gorgeous tall trees in her garden.
So these are just a few of the twenty ideas that I collected and curated in my Hometalk board Unique And Gorgeous Garden Features. I invite you to check it out for some other ideas and inspiration!
I also included two of mine that I think are unique and gorgeous garden features. I too have a section in my garden that is long and narrow making it awkward and inconvenient to plant. So my husband and I did some hard landscaping instead by adding black shale rock and inexpensive glass gems to create the illusion of a brook running through the rocks. I created this about three years ago and it still looks just as fabulous today.
I also had some garden stepping stones made from resin that over time became quite faded and old looking. It is amazing what a couple of coats of spray paint can do to freshen them up and give them a new life as a garden feature in my garden.
When it comes to adding stunning garden features to your garden I am not sure if there are any set rules. All you need are some creativity and imagination. There are so many possibilities to create a garden with special features that not only add design and interest to your garden but also reflect you personality and style as a gardener.
What features have you added to your garden? What is your personality and style as a gardener? Which one of the twenty ideas I collected are you favourite?
I also invite you to check out another board I created and was featured on Hometalk titled 18 Stunning Christmas Floral Arrangements.
