My Perfect Day #ActsofCaring

My Perfect Day! #ActsofCaring ~

I see my blog as a reflection of me and an opportunity to share my interests and my passions. When I first started blogging I chose to keep the topics positive, informative and inspiring. But I do want to let you know that my behind the scenes life is very normal and very ordinary. Hassles and hiccups are very much a part of my life including cars breaking down, getting the stomach flu and nasty colds, occasional sleepless nights and spilling flour all over the pantry floor because the lid wasn’t put on securely.

I blog because I have a lot of interests and passions and then to top it off I get to share them with my readers! One of my passions is gardening. I call it my sanctuary time to just putter and muck about clipping, trimming, fertilizing, watering and of course, weeding. I also love how my garden changes all summer long.

This is what my garden looked like last month…

and this is what it looks like now….

There are a lot of purple and white flowers blooming. Next month the garden will look totally different with different flowers showing their beautiful colours. You can see a lot green and if you look closely there are blooms waiting to blossom very soon.

TELUS Grand Gestures Campaign

As I try to create a balance between dealing with the routines of daily life and spending time pursuing personal interests it is really nice to have the services that one needs all in place and working seamlessly and smoothly. TELUS is a telecommunications company here in Canada that when it comes to taking care of customers has got it dialed so right. They recently have started a fabulous ‘TELUS Grand Gestures’ campaign. Instead of telling you what TELUS is doing I invite you to take a couple of minutes to view this video. It’s a nice way to escape your ‘behind the scenes’ realities that I talked about previously. It’s truly one of those ‘feel good’ stories that will tug at your heart and give you goose bumps. I love watching videos like this one to add a highlight to my day.

I have to admit I appreciate a company that actually ‘walks the walk’ when it comes to showing appreciation for their customers. We are a full TELUS ‘package deal’ kind of family. TELUS is our service provider for Internet services, landline telephone, every family members’ mobile phone and television. I think we were one of the first residences to get OPTIK TV when it came to our area.

Unfortunately I can’t say we are true long term customers. We used to be with TELUS for many years but we had a few gap years where we were enticed to move over to another service provider offering a really good deal. The lesson learned is that a good deal does not always mean good service. We then tried two other providers that didn’t work out to our satisfaction either. So after a lot of hassle, inconveniences and expense we migrated back to TELUS and have been a satisfied and appreciated customers ever since.

What Is My Perfect Day?

I didn’t hesitate when TELUS asked me what My Perfect Day would look like. My Perfect Day would definitely include spending the day with my best friend Shannon (sorry hubby) who shares the same passion as me for gardening. I would love to spend the day at Butchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C. located on the west coast of Canada on Vancouver Island. I have only been there once in the summer but that was on my honeymoon over thirty years ago and my husband and I did visit the gardens for my birthday present in early December a few years ago. No matter what time of year and what season the gardens are breathtakingly beautiful. But I would love to visit the gardens in the summer season just being immersed in its natural beauty taking my camera of course and spending the day admiring, learning and photographing. In order to get there Shannon and I would catch an early flight to Victoria, catch a cab to Butchart Gardens, enjoy a lovely lunch and dinner in their dining room and stay to capture the park again all lit up with its special lighting in the evening. Then I suspect exhausted and exhilarated we would get back to the airport and take the 90 minute flight back home. That would be My Perfect Day!

Now it’s your turn! I would love to get your thoughts!

What were your feelings when you watched the TELUS Grand Gestures video? I loved watching Ramona’s reaction with every new surprise!

Have you been to Butchart Gardens?

My perfect day would be spend it with my grandma and the rest of my family. I don’t know when the last time that happened was – probably 15+ years ago since she’s in Ireland and the rest of us are spread out all over the world.
