Daylight Savings Time Ends Soon ~ Fall is here so that also means Daylight Savings Time Ends Soon. We have to set our clocks back one hour before we go to bed but we do get to sleep in an hour longer.
Even though it is only one hour, this subtle time shift takes some getting used to. I find the fall shift easier because of being able to sleep in that extra hour. It is nice getting up in the morning when the sun is up but it takes some adjusting to it being so dark so soon after leaving work. Oh well.
It also gets confusing because not all countries, states and provinces around the world practice Daylight Savings Time. And if they do, the start and end dates are on different days depending where you live.
I have to confess that I have previously been caught off guard and did not realize Daylight Savings Time was ending and completely forgot to set the clocks. It was a confusing start to the day and I missed out on having that extra hour to sleep in.
I know I have a lot of visitors and followers around the world so I know that Daylight Savings Time may or may not be different for us. I do want to highly recommend my ‘go-to’ site for Daylight Light Savings Time at timeanddate.com. It is a fabulous reference website for anything to do with times and dates. It will give you lots of information about Daylight Savings Time and the start and end dates and times for every location around the world. It also lists all of the places that do not follow Daylight Savings Time, which is handy to know when traveling across different time zones.
Now I always research and plan ahead of time when Daylight Savings Time begins in the spring and when it ends in the fall and I input this data into my Calendar with a programmed alert for one week and one day before the event. My iPhone also helps be organized because it will show the time shift automatically when I wake up the next morning. No more second guessing.
I also wrote How To Organize For Daylight Savings Time too to help you get ready for that time shift six months from now. I share why I ended up with a speeding ticket while driving to work the Monday after Daylight Savings Time.
I had fun making this reminder poster that I am going to keep on my computer desktop and use it as a reminder wallpaper on my iPad for a week before the time shift occurs.
Feel free to Pin It and use it to help remind you and others of this upcoming fall time shift!
